Live Room B

Live Room B was sandwiched between Studio A and Control Room B.

This room was initially just one of many live rooms connected to Control Room A. In the 90’s Aire LA had this set up as a control room. The door pictured here was not there at the time, and another wall existed behind the camera. The Small room at the end pictured here was mostly used as a vocal booth. This room had a lot of absorptive material and did not have a lot of room sound that it would add. This would give a relatively dry recording without much natural reverb like you’d get in Studio A’s largest live room.

This room was unique, even in how the building was set up in the 2000’s… windows on each side with a view to Control Room B, and the Studio A live rooms.

Musicians could each be in their own rooms, and still see each other through the glass. When these windows are uncovered, you can see all the way from one side of the building to the other… peering through 4 Rooms.

I Don’t know if the ceiling was like this before I was there. It was a simple way to add some vibes to the room. The light was very diffuse and gave the room a soft feel when you were in it.
